This year marks the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death and to honour the late icon’s life, plans are in place for celebrations across the country.

Princes William and Harry are in talks to have a statue built in commemoration of the ‘people’s princess’ while a fashion retrospective is set to be held at Kensington Palace later this month.

And now it has been announced that a two-part documentary exploring the life of the late princess will air in August 2017.

According to People, the television programme will debut on ABC and will feature archival footage, interviews with her closest friends and statements from experts.

The documentary will explore the undeniable influence of Princess Diana, which lives on despite her passing away at the tender age of 36 on 31 August 1997.

A style muse, philanthropist and doting mother, Princess Diana inspired us all and the two-part series is just another addition to the exciting 20th anniversary celebrations taking place this year.
