Yesterday marked the 60th birthday of Sex and the City actress and all-round legend Kim Cattrall. Nope, we can’t quite believe it either.
Naturally, a host of Kim’s co-stars and famous friends lined up to share their birthday wishes with the star, but perhaps the sweetest tribute came from her former co-star and on-screen best pal Sarah Jessica Parker.
Posting a throwback portrait of Kim, SJP shared her ‘love and the very best’ for her ‘sister’ in the coming year.
‘Happy birthday you beauty @kimcattrall. Sending love and the very best for a perfectly marvellous, joyous, healthy and adventure filled birthday year,’ she wrote, signing off as ‘Your ol’ pal, fellow mischief maker and “sister”, Sj xxx’
Her birthday message puts paid to rumours of a falling out between the two actresses, which emerged during the final season of SATC when Sarah Jessica was reportedly paid a significant amount more than her co-stars. However, the pair have always been quick to deny the feud.
‘People don’t want to believe that we get on. They have too much invested in the idea of two strong, successful women fighting with each other,’ Kim told The Mail on Sunday back in 2010. ‘The truth of us being friends and getting along and happily doing our jobs is nowhere near as newsworthy.’ Time to stop talking about in-fighting and raise a (Martini) glass to the real life *Sex and the City *sisterhood?
