Taylor Swift has had us on the edge of our seats all week, dropping hints of new music in the form of cryptic Instagram posts.

After completely wiping her whole Instagram last Friday - deleting all of her posts, removing her profile picture and unfollowing everyone (the same treatment was given to her Twitter and Facebook accounts) - she uploaded three graphics of what was later revealed to be a snake.

Then, last night, she posted three more posts that finally revealed that she is releasing new music.

'First single out tomorrow night,' said one post, with another confirming that her album, which is titled Reputation, will drop on November 10. She also revealed the album cover art, which was shot by Mert & Marcus.

Taylor has been quiet on the music scene for a while; her last album 1989, which which won the Album of the Year Grammy, was released back in October 2014, and her last single - a duet with Zayn Malik, 'I Don't Want To Live Forever' for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack - was back in December 2016, so Reputation is very overdue.

There is a lot of speculation around what Taylor's new album will sound like and what it will address. Will she be apologetic or revengeful? Will she try and mend her damaged reputation and end her feuds with the likes of Kanye and Kim, Calvin Harris and Katy Perry, or will she strike back at criticism, snake-like and full of venom, like her Instagram indicates?

Tonight, we shall find out.

On August 19 we wrote...

Taylor Swift has left her fans devastated after deleting every picture from her Instagram account in one foul swoop. What's more, she's also removed her profile picture and unfollowed everyone. Her Facebook and Twitter accounts also got similar treatment, with the profile pictures now showing as default grey boxes. What's more, her official website is now also totally blank.

What this all 'means' in the age of social media and PR stunts is obviously up for copiuous online debate (Is she releasing new music? Taking a break from taking a break? Coming back with a new image? Having a breakdown?) but one thing is for certain - there's no more July 4 pictures; no more shots of her A-list squad; no more birthday shout-outs to supermodels she's befriended; no more selfies with her cats Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey.

In all likelihood, Swift is probably gearing up to 'do a Beyonce' and release a new album with a new image overhaul - after all, she is the queen of changing it up, musically, switching from country to pop with her 1989 album. Indeed, The Weeknd pulled a similar stunt last year when he was about to release Starboy.

Her last single was a duet with Zayn Malik, 'I Don't Want To Live Forever', which was released in December 2016 for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack, but her last album was actually released ages ago - way back in October 2014.

Fans certainly seem to agree that a new Swift album is en route, with plenty of hysteria to go around.

Watch this space.
