For anyone looking forward to seeing Taylor Swift at tonight’s VMAs I’m afraid we have some bad news - the star won't be attendance this year.
Naturally this information has sent the Internet rumour mill into overdrive. Is she avoiding Kanye and Kim following that recorded phonecall? Did Beyonce get her banned? Or was fitting her squad on the seating plan just too tricky? No, no and, um, no - the real reason is a lot less controversial.
A source close to the VMAs and Swift told People that actually Taylor was never scheduled to attend the show in the first place. Taylor - who has not released an album since 1989 in 2014 - was not nominated for any awards this year.
A regular at the awards show, the VMAs won’t be the same without the singer. She stole the show last year when she showed up with her squad of A-list pals and then took to the stage to perform with Nicki Minaj. And no one will ever forget when Kanye rudely interrupted her 2009 awards speech.
Maybe this year’s show will be drama free? We doubt it….
