FKA Twigs Wins Style Award At BFAs

What do FKA Twigs, Alexa Chung, Emma Watson and Harry Styles all have in common? They are all proud owners of a British Fashion Award Style Award.

FKA Twigs is the antidote to nude mermaid fishtail gowns. This is a girl who went to the Met Gala in a Christopher Kane dress with a doodle of a, well, penis on it and wears feathers for clothes.

Tonight FKA Twigs was celebrated for her red carpet rule-breaking, as she was given the Style Award - Fashion Innovator by Jefferson Hack and Kate Bosworth. On stage FKA dedicated her award to her mum who used to make their clothes and she said that everyone would stare because they were so brilliant.

FKA had an outfit change AT the BFAs changing from her Calvin Klein Collection black tiered gown she wore on the red carpet, into an edgier black and bright yellow jacket-meets-dress for the winners room.

FKA Twigs has previously said of how she looks: "Being beautiful isn't everything... Sometimes it's interesting to show how you feel on the inside on the outside, just through expressing yourself." The 26-year-old British singer with the kiss curls isn't just changing festival fashion, she was featured in American Vogue in a four page spread shot by Patrick Demarchelier.

Meanwhile Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie won the Red Carpet Style Ambassador award.
