Cannes Film Festival 2017: The Best Dressed List

We chart the stars' greatest looks as they happen...

The 70th Cannes Film Festival is underway and the A-list are dominating the red carpet on the French Riviera as we speak.

And the ceremony is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious in the fashion calendar, as stars don their finest attire in a bid to claim a top spot in the best dressed list. But the red carpet elite have some historical fashion moments to compete with, whether we're talking about Princess Diana's elegant debut appearance on the red carpet back in 1987 or Bella Hadid's memorable red carpet walk last year.

But with their stylists in tow, stars will be sure to keep the sartorial spotlight on them at all times.

So who do we expect to grace the red carpet this year? Well, this season the ceremony has welcomed change (not without its controversy), as the event is set to celebrate 'event' television. This means, that Netflix productions have made the cut for the first time in the ceremony's 70-year history.

And this unanticipatd move has enabled Nicole Kidman to stage a major comeback to the big (and small) screen this film season with the likes of The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, China Girl and The Beguiled. So, expect the actress to stage some pretty memorable fashion appearances at the photo calls over the week, too.

Bella Hadid

Bella made her second appearance in the French Riviera but this time, with her dad by her side. The model of the moment opted for a nude cold-shoulder gown by Alexander Vauthier, the same designer she chose last year.

Emily Ratajkowski

Emily Ratajkowski opted for a nude slip dress for the prestigious ceremony. The model accessorised the look with a striking necklace.

Model Sara Sampaio demonstrated how to be the flamenco dancer emoji IRL. The 25-year-old donned a crimson couture gown by Zuhair Murad for the magical moment.

Hailey Baldwin

Hailey Baldwin made her debut appearance on the red carpet in a cobalt blue peplum two-piece. The 20-year-old finished the look with a blunt bob.

Emily Ratajkowski

We have to admit, Eimly Ratajkowski's first ensemble wasn't what we were hoping for. But the model saved her best look for last, as she opted for a lace jumpsuit by Peter Dundas.

Rhianna

Rhianna always brings her sartorial know-how to any red carpet and Cannes was no different. We're loving headline-making white Dior gown teamed with matching white Dior superstar shades.

Bella Hadid

Is Bella Hadid the new Queen of Cannes? The model has continued her winning streak of stellar looks with this scarlet Dior dress accessorised a la Elizabeth Taylor with Bulgari jewels and killer eyeliner.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall walked the red carpet for the screening of 120 Beats Per Minute and the stole the show in the process. Wearing a one shoulder printed gown with a dramatic long gown by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture, Jenner narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction.
