Fashion students don’t have it easy. Your graduate show is an important one; your chance to be crowned the next best thing in a sea of talent.

Of course, Stella McCartney’s Central Saint Martins graduation show back in 1995 was never going to run the risk of going under-the-radar - enlisting the help of her model BFFs Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Yasmin Le Bon.

Clever casting from the-then rising design star and rock royalty, you might say? Well, actually the 45-year-old fashionista reveals it’s her biggest fashion regret.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, McCartney confessed she was ‘naive’ to ask her pals to model her collection, which naturally caused a media storm.

Reflecting on that time Stella says: 'I look back on that moment and just feel a bit embarrassed that I was so naive.'

‘They were my mates and that's who I was hanging out with when I was at college,’ she continued. ‘So when it came to choosing the models for my degree show I kind of thought I might as well ask my friends.'
