The DL on the Danish model to watch
Lily-Rose Depp. Kaia Gerber. Lottie Moss. The teens are taking over the world!
But there’s one rising fashionista in the 'Generation Z' club you need to get on your radar right now: Frederikke Sofie.
After appearing out of nowhere and landing every major AW16 campaign, the 17-year-old is now stealing the spotlight.
Here’s Grazia's ultimate cheat-sheet to the supermodel in the making…
Frederikke Lives In Denmark
She was first scouted by 2pm modelling agency at 14-years-old whilst attending a concert in her hometown in Copenhagen. ‘The size of Copenhagen is brilliant,’ she tells Models.com. ‘You can walk from one side to the other in about an hour. The atmosphere in Copenhagen is especially amazing around the small canals of Christianshavn, a part of the town I recently moved to.’ Her Instagram feed is also packed with cool-girl snaps of her biking around the capital with her pals. Dreamy.
Modelling Was Her Teenage Rebellion
Meet the coolest ‘alt-model’. Speaking to I-D magazine this year she revealed; ‘I’ve never wanted to do the ordinary thing and for now the alternative is modelling. For me [modelling] it's an opportunity to learn to take care of yourself, grow up quickly, travel the world, make friends and earn money at a really young age.’
Top Designers Are Digging HerShe’s bagged starring roles with the biggest brands this Fall 2016 – from Zara’s forest disco to Chloé's dreamlike holiday in Southern Italy.
Her Scandi Street Style Is Everything
Catch the model dashing between shows and you’ll be aware of her seriously effortless off-duty style – think simple black tees and structured silhouettes. ‘I adore nice clothing,’ she says. ‘I really like Scandinavian brands like Acne, Monki and GANNI.’
Our kind of girl.
Geek-Chic Glasses Are Her Thing
Her specs appeal is so on point – rocking nerdy frames way before Gucci brought them back. The Danish model is rarely spotted sans Annie Hall-style frames or 70s-esque sunnies. L.O.V.E.
She Rocks Rapunzel Hair IRL
Her pre-Raphaelite golden curls have become a phenomenon in their own right, after opening Céline's show during Paris Fashion Week last September. Ultimate #HairGoals. Oh and no uber-luxe treatment for her tresses either – she gets her locks trimmed twice a year at her local hairdressers in Copenhagen. Easy peasy.
