Stuck in traffic again, and we run into the Park Avenue Armory just as the music is starting. We're sitting in a huge amphitheatre constructed by set designer Stefan Beckham just for the show.

And then in glide the models – and I mean glide, despite the XXL platform boots on their feet. And, oh, the clothes! The proportions – the hair, slicked down in set waves to the head, only emphasises the extremes: small, neat heads emerging from voluminous folds.

Edwardian-come-cyber-goth capes and inflated skirts, long, long dresses in purple stripes and so, so much black: black velvet, black sequins, black lace...

There's Kendall Jenner in black feathers and - wait? - Lady Gaga in a mannish greatcoat and voluminous pussybow...
