Denim connoisseur J Brand has teamed up with London-based designer Bella Freud in the creation of an exclusive 17-piece collection.
Inspired by Freud’s adoration for ‘70s denim, the designer got nostalgic when talking to WWD about the upcoming collaboration as she talked about the days when she would head to Jean Jeanie to try on endless pairs of jeans.
“Everyone loves denim. There’s always a moment in your life when you find what you love jeans-wise,” the designer told WWD. “These young guys would come into the dressing room halfway through when you were half naked, ‘Oh, do you need any help?’ It was such a nightmare, trying desperately to work out if you were going to look like an idiot in the jeans.”
Sound familiar? Well, Bella is here to solve all of our denim woes.
The line will feature two pairs of jeans, a jacket, skirt and jumpsuit ranging from dark indigo hues to black denim. Plus, a number of Freud's cult slogan knits.
And it seems jeans are the new ‘it’ item this season as Freud revealed: “A girl in a cool pair of jeans is like botticelli’s venus - as though she has invented this look for the first time, you never get tired of watching her.”
She continued: “I am excited to be collaborating with the kings of denim, J Brand to create some sexy and desirable looks for autumn/winter '17.”
