Spring is here and the flowers are in full bloom at the Fendi, thanks to their new ‘Flowerland’ pop up housed at Selfridges London Oxford Street store.

From the 16th of May, Selfridges will be hosting an exclusive Fendi pop up shop with a unique art installation curated by critically acclaimed botanical artist Azuma Makoto, to celebrate the Italian fashion label’s ‘Flowerland’ collection.

Floral artist extraordinaire Azuma Makoto is renowned for his distinct style of accentuating the beauty of natural forms by reimagining them into luxe abstract sculptures and epic installations.

Past collaborations between the brand and Makoto have seen spectacular displays being produced. Who can forget Fendi’s pop up ‘Fur tree’ in Tokyo, which was adorned with the brand’s signature fur balls (resembling delicate flowers) on an uprooted tree that was suspended between floors resulting in a visually stunning installation?

For this new collaboration, Makoto has constructed a show stopping display inspired by the ‘Flowerland’ theme from Fendi S/S 16 women’s collection which featured intricate 3D flowers delicately adorned on the clothing, handbags and accessories.

During the first two weeks of the pop up shop, you will also have an opportunity to experience rare visuals which give a unique insight into how the pieces from the collaboration are constructed by Makoto’s studio, all presented in a specially commissioned flower ‘Ape’- definitely something to see in person!

Along with shopping the new collection, you’ll also have a chance to purchase a one-of-a-kind miniature flower bottle, made with real flowers and featuring an intricate floral seal tie that has been hand crafted by Fendi’s own leather artisans – perfect for a spot of self-gifting!

The FENDI Flowerland Pop Up arrives in Selfridges on May 16th 2016.
