Kate Moss Turns Interior Designer! See Inside Her First Development

Kate Moss knows how to make things fly off the shelves, inspiring copy Kates throughout the nation via her own wardrobe and her successful Topshop collections. Now she is making us want to buy something a little more expensive - a house.

Kate has had a career change, turning to interior design. This week she has unveiled her collaboration with homes developers, The Lakes by yoo and developer John Hitchcox. For her first interiors project, Kate oversaw the interiors of a five bedroom home called 'The Barnhouse' in the Cotswolds.

Kate said in an interview with The Sunday Times: “I’m branching out. I’d known John long enough that I could just phone him up to speak about it. There was a relationship already, rather than some stranger coming up and saying, ‘Do you want to do interiors?’ I wouldn’t have done that.”

She also said of the project: “John and I became friends through our love for the English countryside (and the pub)…When he told me about the Barnhouse in the middle of the silver birch wood I was intrigued and then excited to become part of the design team. We have created a luxurious haven in the woods, a perfect place to escape with family and friends.”

So what does a house designed by Kate Moss look like? A release explains that the house is inspired by a traditional English novel and old country home, with earthy hues throughout the home.

Kate enlisted David Haddick, a local craftsman who built her own closet in her London house, to create bespoke furniture for the house. She added rock and roll touches throughout, including a TV cabinet with a thunderbolt referencing David Bowie and art work by Allen Jones, Damien Hirst and Chris Levine. As expected, you'll spot the odd Kate Moss portrait on the walls.

Now if you have a spare couple of million pounds, the house is up for sale with prices starting from £2.5 million.
