L'Wren Scott has been found dead aged 47, according to reports. The fashion designer was found hanging in her Manhattan apartment by her assistant today. Police said her body was found around 10am, New York time, on 11th Avenue. According to New York Daily News, police did not suspect foul play, but the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine a cause of death.

The gorgeously statuesque Scott had become a London Fashion Week favourite, showing her collections at intimate presentations. She was also known as a celebrity stylist, masterminding the red carpet wardrobes of Nicole Kidman, Madonna and Amy Adams among others. And this is the lady who was rumoured to be designing Angelina Jolie's wedding dress.

It was back in 2006 that Scott introduced her first collection called "Little Black Dress". Ever since, she became the go-to woman for sequinned, uber-elegant gowns which have been worn everywhere from the Oscars to the silver screen. Her most recent presentation set to show during February's London Fashion Week was cancelled at short notice, reportedly due to production issues. However, speculation has now emerged that the cancellation may have been due to personal problems.
