Trends are transient and so is fashion terminology. One minute we're talking all things athleisure and the next, we're seeking goodies drenched in millenial pink.

But there's a newbie on the block. According to fashion site Lyst, 'Jetleisure' is set to be the next major player in the fashion dictionary:

'Jetleisure'

Noun

A luxury clothing category comprised of items that are worn on holiday and make an impact on Instagram. These items share unique features such as bold colours and patterns, sculptural shapes or slogans.

“She packed the very best Jetleisure for her trip to Tulum”

Synonyms : holiday clothing, statement beachwear.

Search surrounding the 'It' labels under the new clothing category has increased by 408 percent year on year, resulting in 130 searches per minute. But why?

Lyst's editor, Charlotte Austin, explained: "When it comes to holidays people are no longer packing for practicality but to look good in their Instagram photos, standing out against those pale beaches or cobbled streets and playing to those likes. The result is a rapid rise in searches for these niche luxury holiday brands that are meeting the demand."

Who are the key players for 2017?

With the rapid rise of 'Jetleisure', it's hard to keep up but thankfully Lyst has identified the major brands to seek inspo from this season...

What do I need to pack to achieve 'Jetleisure' this season?

    The Beach Dress

Every blogger knows that finding the right beach dress for potential Instagram snaps is crucial. Whether they're planning on using Santorini's VSCO-effect views as a backdrop or Bali's '#nofilter' beaches, the dress is a must. And this season, there has been a 403 percent inrease in search according to Lyst.

In May, interest surrounding the beach dress peaked as people searched for the garment once every three minutes.

    The Sun Hat

The sun hat is undoubtedly one of the most important accessories when it comes to perfecting the beach look this season. And one of brands to look out for is Eugenia Kim. With slogan-embroidered straw hats aplenty, there's never been a more Instagrammable accessory.

According to Lyst, there have been over 11,600 posts on Instagram under the hashtag '#eugeniakim' and the brand has seen a phenomenal 93 percent increase in views.

    The 'It' Swimsuit

We're looking at Instagram heavyweights Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Never has there been such hype surrounding thigh-cut one-piece swimsuits (well, since the eighties anyway). So much so, that someone has searched for the cult garment every five minutes this year.

The reigning brands? Maryisa and celeb-approved Solid & Striped are the most popular swimwear brands of 2017 so far. We know where we'll be purchasing our bikini this year...

    The Sandals

When searching for sandals, what are people looking for this season? According to Lyst, the style set are on the look out for 'embellished' footwear this summer.

There has been a 72 percent increase in search for metallic espadrilles on Lyst while Greek-inspired sandals are the most viewed on the website.

    The Basket Bag

Yes, we're still blabbing on about the basket bag. But who can blame us? The data doesn't tell fibs and according to Lyst, there has been an increase in searches for the cult accessory this year. While browsing the Internet for potential buys, words such as 'fun' and 'bright' crop up quite often so make sure to bag a basket number complete with pompoms and embroidered wording.

Though the fashion site also warns that the average price of a raffia bag has increased by 141 percent in the last year. So make sure to be quick before you're forced to fork out over £89.
