For years we’ve been told to pop Omega 3s, drink plenty of water and keep a zen desk space, all in the name of sustaining our focus throughout the working day. Now, new research has shed light on an altogether different way of upping our work mojo and it comes down to hair.

According to a new survey by hair specialists Nioxin, 76% of working women say that a good hair day helps their performance in the office. Why? It’s all down to confidence. A simple concept; when we feel good in ourselves we project our best self onto others and feel more confident to offer our opinions, ideas and take charge of situations in the workplace. It’s the same theory behind power dressing.

Have you ever seen the likes of Anna Wintour, Michelle Obama or Kate Middleton sporting a bed head ‘do? No. Never. Anna even reportedly wakes up at 5am for a daily blow-dry in pursuit of eternal good hair days (not that we have the cash, time nor inclination to traipse to a salon every morning).

See the successful women, from Creative Director’s to Entrepreneurs to Actresses, who have mastered the art of career hair.
