With glam squads now bigger than some small countries, it's not hard to see why our favourite stars embrace change pretty often when it comes to their hair.
While you and I may not dare to attempt a drastic hair transformation (so many risks) the A-listers are in good hands and can execute a style shift perfectly.
We've rounded up 13 of the best celebrity hairstyle switches, and take a look back at their hair evolutions.
1. Ariana Grande
Pop princess Ariana Grande has had one notible transformation full stop, let alone a hair make-over. It is widely known that Ariana suffers with baldness from having to repeatedly dye her hair for the role of Cat on Nickelodeon show Victorious. So, to cover up any bald patches she relied on her trusty half-up half-down do, which became her signature. She has adapted this recently, adding a full fringe and putting all of her hair into a high ponytail.
2. Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence's beauty has not been compromised by any of her hairstyle choices, but she looked the most striking with an ice blonde bob when she attended the Global Fan Screening of X-Men Apocalypse in May this year.
3. Jourdan Dunn
The model with legs for miles, Jourdan Dunn has experimented with her hair since making it in the modelling world. In 2008 she donned a natural look, but chopped it all off in 2014, rocking a statement ombré bob. During fashion season this year she opted for sleek and shiny black locks, and we reckon this is our favourite look of hers so far.
4. Emma Watson
We all remember when Emma Watson transformed into a woman before our eyes when she stepped out onto the red carpet for the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 with a dramatic pixie cut. She told the Metro back in 2010 that the choice to cut her hair was an ode to the end of the Harry Potter era and also signified her desire to establish her own identity, separate from Hermione Granger.
‘I didn’t get to experiment with dyeing and chopping off my hair like most teenagers. It also felt, right, I’m 20, I’m not a little girl any more. I’d been on Harry Potter for ten years so I needed to mark the end of it in some way. I needed a drastic change and that’s what the crop was all about.’
5. Emma Stone
Emma Stone is not a natural redhead, believe it or not, but kept the colour after she dyed it for a film role. She arguably looks better ginger than she does blonde, but the same cannot be said for her attempt at black hair at the 'Manus x Machina' Costume Institute Gala earlier this year; copper-hues compliment her so much more.
6. Kim Kardashian-West
Style queen Kim isn't shy to testing out trends and toeing the sartorial borderline (or wearing nothing at all and 'breaking the Internet'), and the same goes with her recent hair choices. We have always known Kim, like her sisters, to have long sleek dark brown hair that is so shiny we can see our reflections in it, yet over the past couple of years she has been switching up her look. In 2015 she tried out the 'lob' hairdo, and then later that year she bleached it white blonde, à la Draco Malfoy. We salute her efforts, but we were also pleased to see that her long dark locks made a comeback during fashion season - they incite true hair envy.
7. Lily James
Before Lily James's big on-screen moment playing Cinderella in the 2015 Disney adaptation, she had dark brown locks. But after she rocketed to fame she kept her long blonde princess hair. This year, though, she has become the face of Burberry and her hair has improved again - we love her ombré do, and we can tell she does too.
8. Kylie Jenner
Now, Kylie Jenner should win awards for the amounts of times she has re-styled her hair. Granted, some of them are wigs (they must be), but how can one person look good with hair every colour of the rainbow? Out of the six we've chosen, we can't help but be drawn to the top right blonde do, (we wonder if her and Kim they fought over this hairstyle). But we also think she looks great with green hair...? However, (completely aware that we sound mum-ish) we prefer her black hair the best of all because it's more natural and so, naturally, suits her better.
Who could forget the hair chameleon herself, Rihanna. Since the days of 'Pon de Replay' back in 2005 she has tried an array of looks and made-over her hair from one extreme to another, sometimes a few times in one year. Although her hairstyles are ephemeral they leave a lasting impression; we adored her bright red 'Only Girl In The World' look in 2011, and we were then inspired by her 'Good Girl Gone Bad' pixie crop in 2012. This year, though, she hasn't strayed from black hair...yet.
10. Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus seemed to change her personality overnight under the spotlight's glare. The sweet country singer and star of Disney's Hannah Montana had pretty standard teenage hair up until 2012, when she injected some glamour into her look and rocked a balayage bob. In 2013, however, she did a full 180 and debuted a bleach blonde pixie crop. By pairing this staple short mop with provocative and wild outfits she quickly became someone we could not take our eyes off.
11. Kristen Stewart
K Stew, like so many others, seemingly had enough of the typical long Hollywood hairstyle and chopped hers into a pixie crop, and then bleached it...and then shaved it into a buzz cut. (We're getting Bieber vibes, see below.) Is there much else she can trial out?
12. Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift too has had a hair-voltution. In 2006 she had big blonde curly sweetheart locks, then adapted it to make it very sleek and styled. Her biggest hair switch was earlier this year; she debuted her bleached bob when she attended the 'Manus x Machina' Costume Institute Gala.
There seems to be a shared behaviour when it comes to hair make-overs among the A-listers, the criteria being shorter and blonder. Even Bieber has gone down a similar route...
13. Justin Bieber
Biebs has really side-stepped between good and bad hair moments throughout his career; his hair evolution is like a zig-zag. One of the great turning points was when he ditched the swishy teenage fringe that had boys across the nation walking with their head at a permanent tilt. In 2013 and 2014 we saw a well-groomed Bieber, until 2015 when he grew out his mop and then bleached it. We weren't sure about this move, but this year he pulled it back to smart before shaving it off completely. We can hardly keep up with JB's turbulent hair moods, but we're definitely always intrigued.
14. Gigi Hadid
Gigi isn't one to shy away from hair experimentation. She had a short pixie crop in 2015, went brunette to walk the Balmain catwalk at Paris Fashion Week last year, and more recently she lived out all of our hair dreams when she went pink. She debuted her pink mermaid hair and bangs on Instagram, and looked oh-so cool. It almost certainly wasn't her real hair, but we don't mind, because we think we love her best when she's sporting her natural, Californian beach-blonde waves.
15. Cara Delevingne
Much like her big brows, Miss Delevingne’s honey coloured hair has become a signature, since her early modelling days in 2010. For years she kept her locks long and loose, until she debuted a choppy ‘Lob’ at a Comic Con event last year. And though she’s favoured her shorter ‘do for months now, Cara’s opted for a daring spring colour update - revealing an ‘80s-style platinum dye job at Paris Fashion Week, whilst out an about with pals Kendall Jenner and American Honey actress Sasha Lane.
16. Hailey Baldwin
20-year-old Hailey Baldwin, like most supermodels, has experimented with dramatic hair dye and cuts: blonde to brunette to short lobs and long bangs. (We prefer her honey blonde best, though.)
More recently, in her most dramatic departure yet, Hailey dyed her hair a glittery blue colour when she attended a galactic-themed birthday party. Nine Zero One hairstylist Florido Basallo is the mastermind behind the sparkly look, and we're loving it.

17. Katy Perry
Katy Perry has worn her hair every colour of the rainbow and it's actually becoming hard to figure out what her natural hair colour is. It is jet black. Is it mousey brown?
Recently, though, she has moved away from bubble gum shades and opted for a bleach blonde buzz cut instead (å la Justin Bieber and K Stew).
18. Selena Gomez
Over recent years Selena has been moving further and further away from the Disney teen aesthetic and into a young woman. Her signature long locks from the days of Wizards of Waverly Place, Justin Bieber and the early years of her solo career has been fazed out for shorter, sleeker and more sophisticated hair. Now, on her Instagram, she has debuted her shortest hairdo yet - a very short bob, and looks amazing.
