Hair-Stencilling

Glitter roots. Macaron hair. Cherry bombre. It’s fair to say we’ve seen many a hair trend go viral in the last year.

But now it’s time to introduce our favourite new arty ‘do so far: Hair-stencilling.

We're obsessed after hair stylist and artist Janine Kerat Salon Aguayo posted the new DIY dyeing technique on her Instagram, using stencils and dye to create literal hair art on top of the hair. The best part? You can literally create whatever pattern you like – from all-over rainbow polka dots to delicate floral designs.

First, Janine draws sketches to inspire her designs using coloured pencils and sharpies on a canvas before she turns them into real-life creations for your tresses. And, don’t worry, you can use temporary hair colour spray if braving your bold new ‘do in the office is not for you. A (temporary) tattoo for the hair, if you will.

After a more subtle change? See Pixie Lott for inspo.

Our fierce new look for festival season, sorted.
