Olivia Palermo On Her Health, Style & Beauty Secrets

Exclusive: Olivia Palermo Shares Her Hair, Fitness & Beauty Secrets

If there's one woman who always manages to top our both our best dressed AND beauty crush lists, it's Olivia Palermo.

She's always immaculately turned out, without a hair out of place, but has fun with her look - think metallic smokey eyes and bold nails on the red carpet - and her glossy hair is the stuff of dreams.

We caught up with her exclusively to talk about her second range for Ciate (which launches today! Visit Ciate for more details) as their creative director, what keeps her skin flawless, and what gets her in the mood to go out...

Grazia Daily: We estimate there’s thousands of women taking pictures of you to their hairdressers – what products do you use to keep your hair so swishy and glossy?

OP: "I wash my hair every morning to keep it clean, and I use a good moisturizing shampoo (we love Living Proof's Restore Shampoo) which keeps it light and manageable."

GD: How did you choose your new shades and products for your AW15 collection with Ciate?

OP: "I took inspiration from New York for my AW collection. New England in autumn is the main inspiration as there are always lots of rich colors, particularly the shades of violet which I love."

GD: Which product from the range are you most obsessed with?

OP: "The red nail polish Hutch (£17.00), from my SS15 collection, is the most perfect red nail polish for every skin tone and I am really happy with how the colour looks."

GD: What are your favourite cult, cool skincare brands?

OP: "I use Dr. Dennis Gross religiously, my favourite product is his All In One Cleansing Foam, (£29.00)."

GD: And fragrance?

OP: "Orange Blossom by Jo Malone, (£85.00)."

GD: What’s your favourite smell? Fragrance or otherwise.

OP: "Orange Blossom."

Who was your makeup inspiration for your wedding? What look did you go for?

OP: "I wanted to be comfortable and keep it simple. It’s important to look like yourself on your wedding day and not go over the top with makeup so I went for a very natural look."

GD: And for your hair?

OP: "It was a beautiful, warm day so a high ponytail helped to keep me cool."

GD: What does a normal day in food look like for you?

OP: "I normally have a croissant in the morning, a salad for lunch and some kind of pasta for dinner."

GD: What’s your all-time favourite comfort food?

OP: "I love french fries."

GD: Are you a real gym bunny or do you love yoga? Talk us through your exercise regime.

OP: "Yoga really helps with my flexibility and strengthens my back. But currently I am obsessed with Flybarre – it works out my entire body."

GD: If you had an evening in to pamper yourself, what would the routine look like?

OP: "I love taking a long bath, lots of Jo Malone and Diptyque candles and whatever new music playlists Johannes makes for me. "

GD: What’s a beauty tip you wish you could tell your younger self?

OP: "Don’t overpluck your brows!"

GD: Who’s in your beauty little black book?

OP: "In NYC I go to my dermatologist, Dr. Dennis Gross and when I’m in London, my facialist Fere."

GD: What’s the best style advice you’ve ever received?

OP: "Always be comfortable in what you wear and wear clothes with confidence."

GD: What 5 items would be in your dream capsule wardrobe?

OP: "Skinny Jeans, trench jacket, light knit sweater, flats, belt. "

GD: What music gets you in the mood for going out?

OP: "Anything Beyonce."

GD: Who are your 3 beauty inspirations?

OP: "I have two, my mom and my aunt."

GD: You’ve got 15 minutes to get ready - lips or nails?

OP: "Nails. They should always be clean and presentable."
