We're all about a strong lip here at Grazia HQ, and this year everywhere we look bold colours are showing no signs of fading. New York Fashion Week has boasted an array of rosy-pink, nude hues – especially at the Dior and Elle shows in New York. And in the awards season circut, Hollywood’s greatest talent have been opting for berry lips with a slick of shine over top to add an air of nonchalance and resplendence.

Any Hollywood screen siren worth their salt can tell you a bold lip demands to be noticed, and there's nothing wrong with being the centre of attention from time to time.

The only thing that can perhaps match our fondness for a bold lip is our fondness for eating, especially burgers, burritos and other messy things. Not to mention drinking, and from time to time, when we feel nice, a kiss or two. Sadly, none of these things are particularly conducive to keeping your lippy on. Even for those of us who eat very neatly and only sip through straws, the fear of the screen icon you end up looking like the Joker rather than Marilyn Monroe can be enough to make you reach for the lip balm instead.

So, we've trialled a whole bunch that claim to be long-lasting, and we can now present to you the cream of the crop.
