The Milanese catwalks are by far the most glamourous, featuring some of the biggest shows in fashion- think Prada, Versace and Moschino. Not only does each show set produce a serious amount of drama, but the models are mega and the make-up is always a talking point. So with that in mind, we bring you the best beauty trends and tricks we learnt while scouring backstage at the shows… enjoy!

There wasn’t just one colour that stole the shows, in fact there was an influx of multi-coloured strokes that grazed the models' eyes at Emilio Pucci, Sportmax and Ports 1961 - think punchy yellows and emerald greens. Over lips at Marco de Vincenzo each of the models wore different shades of pink, red and orange lipsticks to match their outfits. And the Gucci girls sported bleached white, yellow and pink brows. So before you next apply that nude lippie, think about pushing the boundaries, that red has your name all over it!

A Cut Above The Rest

Redken's Global Creative Director, Guido Palau worked his scissor magic again in Milan. After creating deconstructed surfer girl cuts in New York at Alexander Wang, he continued his cutting streak at Prada where he gave seven lucky models a jaw-skimming bob totally changing their look. Then over at Versace, a few days later, he gave long, choppy bangs to a few select girls who were willing to embrace the change. And trust us when we say, it’s a bloody good change, Guido’s haircuts are so legendary they are known to catapult your career, while also being the chops of the season. Prepare to take these snaps to your next hair cut appointment.

Festival season may be long gone, but as soon as the Glasto tickets are out, preparation for outfits and beauty looks begin. So with that in mind may we bring you the new way to wear glitter. At Giamba, make-up artist Val Garland touched each model with a sprinkle of glitter-dripping it over ear cuffs and stamping cute shapes and symbols over their foreheads. Leave your flower garlands at home, this detailing is all you need.

Move over shine, desert-dry hair textures were abundant on the Milanese catwalks. At Etro the inspiration was a Moroccan adventure, so hairstylist James Pecis sprinkled L’Oreal Professionel Texture Dust, £12.60, into the hairline for a dusty finish, while over at Emilio Pucci dry shampoo lent some valuable crunch to curls.
