1. Know When To Give Yourself A Time-out

Do you know how to be more productive at work? Leave work for a little while. We know it sounds counter-productive, but sometimes you just need to walk around the corner or sit in a café for 20 minutes to get your head back together during a stressful day. Studies have shown that people who go outside for their lunch breaks are much more productive in the afternoons, than the people who eat at their desks. So, whatever it takes, get out of your work space whenever you need to regroup. Your mind will thank you for it, and surprisingly, so will your boss, as you’ll become waaaay more productive!

2. Reclaim Your Evenings

It is feasible to move up the career ladder and still call your evenings you own. I mean, what’s the point of working for a living, if you don’t get to do the living part until the weekend? Take up R&B dancing or start a design course on a week night. It will force you to leave the office when everyone else already has. Also, make it a 2017 rule: no work emails past 6pm or on the weekends!

3. Adopt A SOCIAL Digital Blackout

Hanging out with your friends can be a pain if you’re always all scrolling through your phones with vacant expressions. The point of physically being with your friends is so that you can spend quality time with them in your downtime, with minimal distractions. Encourage your mates to adopt a Digital Blackout rule when you’re all out for brunch, shopping, anything! It will make that quality time even more special.

4. Start A Dream Journal

Some of the best psychologists recommend keeping a dream journal in order to benefit your emotional health, which in turn, improves your physical health. Some experts say dream-journaling can even increase your creativity. You may just learn a little more about yourself, which will come in handy when you need to avoid things that could cause a burnout!
