Looks like we've found this season's backstage beauty hero: the sheet mask. While they will (temporarily) turn the most beautiful faces into Hannibal Lecter, they also offer a hit of hydration and radiance in no time at all. Victoria Beckham shared this snap of one of her models wearing the cult favourite SK-II Facial Treatment Mask, before her runway show on Sunday.

Sheet masks are just another beauty hero that's come over from Korea - they've been popular with South Korean women for years. A sheet mask is basically a single-use sachet, with a piece of cotton cut to fit the contours of your face, soaked in nourishing, smoothing and glow-giving serum. You pop it on, take some scary selfies, leave it for about 10 minutes then peel off. The sheet acts as a barrier, keeping the area clean and helping your skin better absorb the goodness.

We can see why these are so popular backstage - unlike cream or paste formulas, there's no messy application or need to wash your hands after. And, once you remove the mask, you can simply massage in the remaining serum - no scrubbing with a flannel required. We at Grazia love for as a mid-week way to inject a little life into our skin, or before a party to give a more radiant base. That, and scaring our flatmates. You can also get masks specific to certain problem areas, like crows feet or tired eyes – keep those in the fridge for a perfect ‘aah’ moment on application.
