It's no secret that Hollywood loves a sequel - and a prequel for that matter. Even the most unmemorable of movies seem to get their own franchise these days - but today, we're happy to report that there's a sequel coming out that's been well worth the wait.
That's right - prepare yourselves for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. Set eighteen years after the last movie, this film sees Toula, our protagonist/Mediterreanean everywoman and husband Ian getting ready for their daughter to leave for college.
It's a case of history repeating itself (with something of a role reversal) as daughter Paris wants to go to university as far away from her parents as possible, while Toula struggles to let her go. Added into the mix is Toula's parents finding out their marriage certificate isn't actually legally binding - and thus needing them to have a new ceremony. Plus Toula and Ian are trying to spice up their love life. Let's put it this way: hilarity ensues.
We're hoping for a return of all our favourite moments - like the Windex as a spot-treatment/cleaning fluid/perfume/air freshener, smothering families, and Bundt cake disasters. Oh, and Toula's pampering sessions, of course.
Now remember, the man may be the head of the family, but the woman is the neck - and she can turn the head any way she wants.
