This weekend David Beckham celebrated his 40th birthday in style with his nearest and dearest in Morocco. He also gave us a present - he joined Instagram.

He might be new to the Instagram game, but he didn't hold back as he posted 12 pictures in three days. David started off his birthday off his Insta-spree by posting a black and white selfie of him lying topless in bed. To borrow words from Beyonce, he woke up like that.

The family started the celebrations with a birthday breakfast, where the table laid out with all the brithday essentials. We're talking party hats, confetti, banners, balloons and party cocktails.

His party was also a gift to all Spice Girl fans out there as Instgram was flooded with pictures of a mini-reunion. Victoria was joined by her friends Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Halliwell. Unfortunately,Mel B wasn't there, but Eva Longoria made a pretty good Spicey stand in.

Other party-goers in attendence included their good friend Gordan Ramsey and his wife Tana, as well as Liv Tyler and her partner Dave Gardner, and of course, his mum, dad and sister.

The party must have been good, as Eva Longoria posted a shot of her, Emma Bunton and Tana Ramsey all looking pretty pooped the morning after the night before.

And of course, the birthday boy was feeling a bit worse for wear also, but he still fulfilled his dad duties and played dress up with daughter Harper. She gave him a pool-side makeover putting some fetching bows in his hair. Adorable!

We can only assume our invite to his party got lost in the post. See the best Instagram pictures from the night in the gallery above...
