Britain’s love affair with gin is clearly going from strength to strength, and now lovers of mother’s ruin can hop on a tour bus dedicated to their favourite spirit.

If the idea of knocking back gin on public transport doesn’t exactly scream ‘classy Saturday afternoon’ to you, prepare to have your preconceptions well and truly challenged: Gin Journey runs regular, chauffeur driven tours around London, Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh, scouting out the most in-demand gin joints in each city to curate an unmissable drinking experience.

On each Gin Journey, there’s space for 20 passengers in the Mercedes minivan (sleeker than your average Routemaster), with the tour headed up by an expert ‘gin guardian’ who’ll be able to impart wisdom on the history of the spirit.

As part of the tour, your ‘gin guardian’ (dream job title, no?) will accompany you to five different bars or distilleries in your locale, and you’ll sample a different artisan gin at each stop. As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also get five different gin cocktails to sample.

Weekend tours typically take place in the afternoon, starting at 2pm and finishing up at 6.30pm, while weekday events run from 6.30pm until 11pm. Good luck managing your hangover in your 9am meeting the next morning.

Tickets start at £52.75 per person, and range up to £70 in Central London, but if you’re serious about the nation’s favourite spirit, it’s surely a worthwhile investment. Cheers!
