Marks & Spencer have launched their first ever online shopping service allowing customers to have food delivered to their home in just a hour. Launched on Friday in two of their stores (Camden, London and Woodley near Reading), if the trial is successful it’s set to be rolled out all over the UK.
Following the success of food delivery services such as UberEats and AmazonFresh, M&S have finally decided it’s their time take a chunk out of the fastest-growing section of the £180bn UK grocery market.

While M&S has been selling party food and alcohol via their website for the past few years this is the first time they will offer a large selection of products for sale online - a total of 4,100 lines.
The new service will offer one and two hour delivery slots within a three-mile radius of the designated store. Ready meals, including curries, pasta dishes and pizza, can be delivered within the hour while more basic grocery items such as bread and milk will take two hours to arrive.
Forget Deliveroo or Dominos, M&S might just become your go-to for that Friday night takeaway. Plus with a minimum £10 spend, it’s the perfect option for getting M&S ‘Dine in for £10’ deal without even leaving the sofa.
