The most popular baby names in England and Wales from the last year have been revealed by the Office for National Statistics – and Amelia and Oliver reign supreme once again.
Amelia has been the most popular name for baby girls since 2011, while Oliver has topped the list of boys names since 2013. Cute, no?
The second and third most popular names for girls are Olivia and Emily. For boys, these slots go to Jack and Harry.
George has risen from 7th place to 4th place since last year, perhaps yet another example of the overwhelming ‘Prince George effect.’
Ella and Mia appear in the girls’ top 10, replacing Lily and Sophie from the previous year.
The girls’ top 100 included six new entries, Penelope, Mila, Clara, Madison, Arabella and Aria, while Jaxon, Roman, Reggie and Carter were new additions to the list of boys.
