Let's be honest, there isn't an occasion, payday or upcoming holiday that doesn't require a carefully curated Pinterest board. And when it comes to your nuptials, there is no greater place on the Internet to seek inspiration.

And now the social media giant has revealed the biggest wedding trends for 2017.

Brunch-Based Nuptials

Hands up, if brunch is the highlight of your week. The thought of poached eggs on avocado-laden toast is the only thing that will get us out of bed on a Sunday morning. And the breakfast trend has finally influenced the wedding market, as Pinterest has reported a 35 percent increase in brunch-themed nuptials. Yes, seriously.

Great news if you're hoping to create a truly Instagrammable day... Step one, let your guests dine on doughnuts.

Personalised Drink Stations

Ditch the bartender and let your guests create their own beverages wih a DIY drink station. According to Pinterest, the search for personalised bevvies has increased by 50 percent. Just keep an eye out for tipsy mother-in-laws.

The dress is undoubtedly the most important aspect of the big day. And with the rise in high street options, we have never been so overwhelmed with choice.

But the most noted trend according to Pinterest, is the cold-shoulder wedding dress. Search for the style has increased by 158 percent this season.

Long gone are the days that brides-to-be would adorn their earlobes with dainty pearls. This season, search for statement accessories has risen by 67 percent. So make sure to supersize your earrings. If anything, consider it a great excuse to shop our round-up of the best on offer this season.

Have you seen Topshop's debut bridal line? The high street giant is set to drop 25 bridesmaid dresses in April and we have our hearts set on a few in particular. So it's hardly surprising that search for mismatched gowns has risen by 50 percent this season. Make sure to shop Topshop's debut line, asap. Expect cold-shoulder dresses, sorbet hues and spaghetti-strap slips.

Greenery

You cannot scroll through Instagram these days without seeing a friend's newly purchased Swiss cheese plant or someone's recent trip to Kew Gardens, carefully documented with several aerial shots of green palms. So it comes as no surprise that plants have finally garnered a well-deserved place in wedding Pinterest boards.

According to the search giant, there has been a 300 percent increase in interest this wedding season. So why not swap floral bouquets for more minimal greenery?

Ah, it's the trend that keeps on giving. Our wardrobes have been carefully organised in tones ranging from sweet candyfloss to floral fuchsia since spring/summer '16. FYI - The highly sought after hue is not going anywhere anytime soon. Search for dusty rose has increased by 255 percent in recent months.

Perhaps it's finally time to trade in traditional white for sorbet pink?
