'Double, double toil and trouble', said the witches in Macbeth, ‘Eye of rabbit, harp string hum, turn this water into rum,’ said wizard Seamus Finnigan in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and now, tonight, witches around the world will be chanting a spell along the lines of: ‘I call upon you, to bind Donald J. Trump, so that he may fail utterly, that he may do no harm to any human soul, nor any tree, animal, rock, stream or sea’.
The 'mass binding ritual', which aims to fundamentally curtail Trump from impacting politics, was called through a Facebook group called Mass Spell to Bind Donald Trump Feb. 24th. On the group - which has garnered over 4,000 likes - it says the spell will 'be performed at midnight on every waning crescent moon until he is removed from office. The first ritual takes place Friday evening, February 24th, at the stroke of midnight.'
According to the 'spell document' the binding isn't intended to cause harm to Trump, more to prevent him from doing harm. 'In this document, binding, which seeks to restrain someone from doing harm, is differentiated from cursing or hexing, which is meant to inflict harm on the target(s),' says the 'magical document'.
The organisers are urging witches around the world, whatever their level of expertise, to join the #magicalresistance. Look out for the Twitter hashtags, such as #bindtrump and #feb24.
