Last week, we told you that 50 Cent had filed for bankruptcyafter losing his sex tape case, and now the plot thickens as the rapper revealed that he exaggerated his luxe lifestyle by renting flash cars and wearing borrowed jewellery.

This is taking ‘fake it ‘till you make it’ to the extreme, Fiddy.

The rapper appeared in court on Tuesday after being ordered to give a pay out of $5 million to Lavonia Leviston to compensate for the distress caused by the pairs’ intentionally leaked sex tape.

And after being court-ordered to complete an online debt course – which the Candy Shop singer dished out $15 for – and giving a testimony about his finances, the struggles he’s had in his mission to* Get Rich Or Die Trying* have come to light.

After turning up in a plastic watch, 50 told the court how he wasn’t worth nearly as much as he originally liked to let on, and that in reality he just owns “three cars and a few chains.”

    Only three? Tough luck, 50.

The Lamborghinis, Bentleys and Rolls Royces that featured in his music videos were but rented cars, and the jewellery merely a loan, he told the courts. Eeek.

Who's chain is that really, 50?

And when he was asked about the dollars bills he threw about in a strip club (classy) in one of his video, he simply said that is was “a thing on his itinerary.”

    Right.

In his original bankruptcy filing, 50 Cent claimed he was $28 million dollars in debt.
