We can probably all agree that Adele is f*cking fabulous. She may the one of the biggest music stars on the planet RN, but she’s just like all of us really. Any woman that manages to squeeze in 33 swear words in a 90 minute Glastonbury headline set (and drop the F-bomb during an acceptance speech) is 100% up our street.
But what we never thought we’d have in common with her is the whole card getting rejected and having to shuffle out a store sadly leaving items with a judgmental shop assistant thing.
This nightmare scenario happens to us at least once a month, and it’s now been reported that Adele suffered the experience in H&M.
She’s worth about £85million and she still shops in H&M. We love her.
She told The Mirror: “I went to H&M and my card got declined. Oh my days, pretty embarrassing.
“Nobody knew it was me, but I was mortified.”
Despite the absolute mare of an experience, she then was able to make purchases in nearby shop Sephora. Thank da lord.
She’s also in the past revealed a penchant for Primark underwear, which we may or may not fully agree with.
And it’s not just the subject of clothes that we identify with her on. Last year it emerged that she was planning to spend Christmas eating Chinese food in her PJs, which now we come to think about it sounds rilly great. We’re seriously considering bailing on the whole family, crackers and charades extravaganza this year…
She tweeted: “In case you were wondering I'm in my dressing gown eating a Chinese watching EastEnders, Merry bloody Christmas!! X.”
