2015 was another year of scoops, scandals and scantily-clad stars. Here are heat’s fave celeb news stories from the past year.
Zayn Malik quit One Direction for a “normal life” and solo career
Directioners’ hearts were broken on 25th March 2015, when Zayn Malik announced he was quitting One Direction due to “stress” and what we all knew to be a solo career. Fello band members Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson responded with tears, momentary outrage – then pronouncements of life-long friendship. Unwanted pregnancies, tattoos and alcohol addictions have somehow not been as big. Directioners are now bemoaning their two-year hiatus.

Bruce Jenner became Caitlyn Jenner
Former Olympian Bruce Jenner came out as transgender during an interview with Diane Sawyer in April. The family’s emotional turmoil was captured in true Kardashian style in the documentary, I Am Cait. The kids were eventually supportive of Caitlyn’s brave transition…especially her hot wardrobe. We expect more glamour to top that Vanity Fair cover in 2016.

Ariana Grande licked some donuts
The rebel singer was caught on video licking donuts in a Californian bakery with her backup dancer, Ricky Alvarez. To top things off, she was busted muttering: “I hate Americans. I hate America.” Just not the nation’s favourite fried food, clearly. She apologised profusely and narrowly escaped criminal charges for the ‘malicious’ incident.

Taylor Swift took down Apple
In June, the social media powerhouse that is Taylor Swift took on Apple – and won. Tay was unimpressed when Apple said they wouldn’t pay royalties for music streamed during the free trial period of their Apple Music service. Tay pulled her 1989 album in protest and Apple did a swift 180 on their policy, tweeting: “We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple.” The music industry celebrated and Tay became the youngest woman ever to be included on the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women list.

Kanye West went cray cray at more awards ceremonies
Kanye had a big year in 2015, and we’re not talking about becoming a Dad for the second time. In February, he destroyed Beck’s moment at the Grammy’s when he was awarded Album of the Year over Beyoncé – a stunt Taylor Swift seems to have forgiven him for. At the VMAs, Yeezy announced his 2020 Presidential bid. Host, Miley Cyrus, summed up our feelings when she responded: "We all know what Kanye West can do when he smokes weed."

Katie Price
2015 was the year Katie Price became a business empire to rival the Kardashians (well, almost). After her win on Celebrity Big Brother, Pricey launched her “Katie Price Official” app, promising exclusive content, live Q&A and a “social network” for fans. She signed her eight-year-old daughter Princess to a modelling agency and “reinvented TV” with a surprisingly clever ad for the National Lottery (#PleaseNotThem). Amidst all this – is she pregs again? Will 2016 bring us number 6?!

Jennifer Lawrence stood up for equal pay
In October, J-Law became a feminist hero for speaking out about the gender pay gap. Jen wrote a candid essay about the issue after hacked Sony emails revealed how much Jen and her female co-stars were paid in comparison to their male counterparts. Her comments were published on Lena Dunham’s website, Lenny, and defended by men and women across Hollywood including Bradley Cooper, who gushed: “Our connection is rare.”

Bobbi Kristina Brown died in tragically similar circumstances to mother Whitney Houston
Bobbi Kristina Brown succumbed to a natural death on 26th July 2015 after an unexplained incident left her in a medically-induced coma for six months. The 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found in similar circumstances to her troubled mother – face down in the bath at her Atlanta condo by her boyfriend, Nick Gordon. He was accused of stealing and knocking her teeth out and could still face murder charges.

Charlie Sheen revealed he’s HIV positive
In November, the Two And A Half Men star revealed he’s HIV positive in an interview with Today. The 50-year-old said he didn’t know how he contracted the virus that he was diagnosed with four years ago. His public confession was a desperate attempt to end a malicious blackmail campaign that has extorted millions from the star. "It's a hard three letters to absorb. It's a turning point in one's life," he said.

We had to include some nudie pics and no one did it (ahem) bigger than Justin Bieber this year. The naked photos of Biebs on holiday in Bora Bora went viral so quickly they really could have broken the Internet. Even his Wiki entry was updated with news of the peen. Poor old Biebs felt “violated” by the pics and reluctantly defended the most embarrassing Dad tweet ever: “What do you feed that thing? #proud daddy.”
