When Beyonce released Lemonade last spring, the internet went into meltdown. Meme's of a mortified Jay Z were flying around left, right and centre, and the Beehive began an all-out witch-hunt for the infamous 'Becky with the good hair'…

FYI. She isn't Rita Ora.

But despite some pretty serious cheating allegations in Queen Bey's album, on the outside, the Carters' marriage seemed as happy as ever.

Sure, there was lift-gate, which will be remembered in the history books forever, but other than that, the world's most famous power couple seemed pretty invincible. We mean, Bey's just given birth to TWINS so we're going to take that as a raaaather big indicator that she's forgiven Jay for whatever he's done.

But even though things appear rosy now, fans have noticed that Jay certainly doesn’t hold back when talking about his marriage in his new album 4:44, which was released on Tidal earlier today.

In his song 4:44, Jay appeared to rap about Beyonce's cheating allegations, on several occasions. He said: “I apologize, often womanize. Took for my child to be born to see through a woman’s eyes.

“And if my children knew, I don’t even know what I would do/If they ain’t look at me the same, I would probably die with all the shame.”

While in family fued he even seems to make a DIRECT reference to Beyonce's Lemonade, saying: “Yeah I’ll f*ck up a good thing if you let me/Let me alone Becky.”

Interesting…

It looks very much like Jay Z is making a public apology to his other half, and of course, Twitter has been speculating since the very moment it dropped.

But who knows, the Carters are infamous for knowing how to cause a stir, and they could well be sitting at home scrolling through Twitter and laughing at all of our reactions.

You can't help but hope that the power couple are in fact using their music to give us a glimpse into their private lives, though.

Solange had to be kicking off over something, after all.
