Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake could be DOING A DUET

In news that you've (probably) been waiting your whole entire lives (since roughly 2002) for, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake ARE MATES AGAIN AND RECORDING MUSIC TOGETHER (possibly).

We'd better dust off our kitten heels and give our gypsy tops a wash – it's officially the early noughties!

Which is frankly fantastic news given the Bake Off ruining, Mel and Sue departing nightmare that is 2016.

All this excitement began when Britney let slip she'd love to record a track with her ex, and then Justin Timberlake asked her to "give him a call."

OMG OMG OMG.

Britney was asked who in the industry she'd like to team up with, and she replied: “Aerosmith seems really good and bright.

"He’s a genius I think. He’s very rock n’ roll. He sings from his soul.

"Gwen Stefani, I think she’s great. Justin Timberlake is very good."

Way to sneak that one in, Britney.

And when E! later asked Justin about the comment, he replied: "She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely.

"I have a 17 month old so I don’t get the headline news.

"I apologise for not being in the know… I’m accessible, give us a call!"

WHATEVER NEXT? Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt going on holiday? Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik starting a reality show?

Britney, meanwhile, is in the midst of a mega comeback – and if there's one thing we at heat love more than anything (other than penis and watching Stephen Bear on the telly), it's a Britney Spears comeback.

She did an AMAZING crotch-grabbing performance at the VMAs, complete with sparkly gold leotard, knee high boots and choker. She looked incred and touched G-Eazy's crotch.

It was everything you need in a VMA performance, basically.

So if Justin and Britney could get their skates on and perform at next year's, that'd be fab.
