Britney Jean Spears is officially BACK BABY. The one we all know and love. The snake charming (ha), red-lycra donning, school uniform sporting, noughties sasspot. The legend, the enigma, the icon. The one that doesn't even need an introduction (so I could have saved myself a few minutes there, but moving on).

We had been anticipating this for a while, especially after Britney's stint on Carpool Karoake and her h-h-HOT holiday snaps. Next thing we know, Britney is on stage at the VMA's wearing a sparkly gold leotard complete with matching knee high boots and choker, looking INSANE and touching G-Eazy's CROTCH.

WOW.

Britter's was slammed for lip-syncing and the set-up did look a little familiar (see Ladies-Beyonce), but we are just utterly chuffed to have her back looking so god damn healthy and happy. We also imagine it is hard to harmonnise whilst gyrating/thrusting/hair-tossing THAT much.

Britney sung a melody of her new song 'Make Me' with rapper G-Eazy and 'Me, Myself and I'. Her new album is called Glory, which is a good job really, 'cos we thought it was GLORY-OUS.

Before she performed she poignantly said, "The VMAs don’t give you a stage, they give you a story. Some way of taking a fraction of a second and making it live forever. Before you know it – it's history. Before you know it… it’s Britney bitch."

Of course, this isn't Britney's first performance at the VMA's. In 2001, Britney famously performed 'I'm a Slave 4 u' whilst holding a massive snake (stop it).

There was her 'comeback' gig at the 2007 VMA's where Britney performed 'Gimme More' and it was just EERY and concerning. Whilst we supported the 'Blackout' and 'Circus' days, we are super glad things seem to be going well for the popstar.

It's about time, ennit.
