Paul Danan has hilariously caused chaos in the Celebrity Big Brother house after setting off the fire alarm in a bid to get into the Diary Room.

The former Hollyoaks actor lived up to his Dangerous Danan name as sirens blared out through Channel 5’s Borhamwood bungalow and the walls were illuminated with flashing red lights.

Residents of the television compound are supposed to press an eye-shaped button, similar to that of the programme’s logo, which is located at the bottom of the stairs, if they want to speak to Big Brother.

But last night, the cheeky chap trotted up the steps, completely missing the Diary Room doorbell, and smashed the fire alarm in a bid to let show bosses know he wanted to talk to them.

Happily humming as he walked up the staircase, he reached the top and asked: “Is it this?! No way!”, referring to a grey box on the wall by the door.

As he pressed the white pad in the centre he heard a loud crack, prompting him to shout: “Ooh! Sorry!”

As alarms loudly rang out across the house and red warning lights began to flash, he exclaimed: “Oh no! F*ck! Sorry!”

His fellow housemate, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville, looked bemused as she peered up at him standing with his hands in the air at the top of the stairs, as former Ex On The Beach contestant Jemma Lucy stood at the bottom in shock.

Big Brother’s voice boomed out over the tannoy as an unplanned fire drill was carried out thanks to Paul, with a producer saying: “This is Big Brother. Would all housemates gather in the garden immediately.”

Running down the stairs, Paul yelled: “Oh no! I didn’t mean to do that!”, as his fellow famous contestants appeared in the main living area from various parts of the house.

Big Brother told the housemates that everything was under control as a still surprised Paul directed the rest of the cast outside, shouting: “Garden! F*ck it! I pressed the fire alarm! I thought it was the Diary Room door and I pressed the fire alarm.”

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight on Channel 5 at 9pm.
