Chadwick Boseman’s early life

Chadwick was born on November 29 1976 in the town of Anderson, South Carolina in the United States to his nurse mother Carolyn and his father Leroy, who owns an upholstery business.

He attended T.L. Hanna High School and graduated in 1995 before going on to study directing at Howard University in Washington D.C.

The star also studied at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford in the UK and had dreams of writing and directing.

He chose to study acting so he could learn to relate to other actors and he became the drama instructor of the Schomburg Junior Scholars Program in New York from 2002 to 2007 before he moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to pursue a career in acting.

Chadwick Boseman’s career

The actor won his first role in a television show in 2003 and appeared in an episode of Third Watch.

He has since appeared in episodes of Law & Order, CSI:NY, and ER.

Chadwick also worked as a playwright and wrote a script for a show called Deep Azure which was performed at the Congo Square Theatre Company in Chicago.

In 2008 he was cast in a recurring role in television programme Lincoln Heights and also appeared in his first film, The Express.

He later won another regular part in television series Persons Unknown in 2010.

In 2013 he was cast in the starring role of Jackie Robinson in movie 42.

At the time, he was appearing in an off-Broadway play and was considering abandoning his acting career in favour of directing.

Chadwick also starred in indie film The Kill Hole in 2013.

Chadwick Boseman’s Hollywood career

In 2014, he appeared in two more films and co-starred alongside Kevin Costner in Draft Day.

That same year he starred as James Brown in Get On Up and won over critics for his performance.

Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther

In 2016 he went on to star as Thoth in Gods of Egypt and was also cast in the role of T’Challa/Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War in part of a five-movie deal with Marvel.
