Are Liam Payne and Cheryl going to be the new Posh and Becks?

YOU READ THAT RIGHT.

It's safe to say the Liam Payne and Cheryl romance was THE SHOWBIZ STORY OF THE CENTURY (maybe after Kim Kardashian releasing that tape of Taylor Swift actually, that was mega).

The romance was definitely in the TOP FIVE SHOWBIZ STORIES OF THE CENTURY, anyway.

Liam Payne announced he was going solo last week, which we kinda had mixed emotions about (we were pleased for him and all, but One Direction?!) – and now it's been announced that he's going to be managed by the same company as DAVID BECKHAM was.

According to The Sun, managing director of Doyen Global (Becks' company) Simon Oliveira will guide him, and may even help to transform his relationship with Cheryl in the same way he did for Posh and Becks.

WE CAN SO SEE IT.

A source told the paper: "Liam has made a bold move going solo so why not go for management of the highest calibre? He also already has a huge profile so the scope to increase his brand further is obvious.

“Being one half of one of the most recognisable couples in Britain obviously helps.

"Being with Cheryl has given him the drive to break through himself. He knows she will be his unofficial mentor too."

We found it kinda strange that the same management that was interested in Becks is interested in Liam (we don't remember Mr Beckham having a singing career?), but it turns out Doyen Global are looking to branch out of their usual sports and film clients into music stars. That explains it, then.

For those of you feeling concerned about Liam's departure from One Direction (we're with ya), you'll be relieved to hear that his sister Ruth Gibbins waded in to reassure us that it isn't the end.

She tweeted to a concerned fan: "yh, im not sure how a solo career in the band 'hiatus' would affect membership ha."

PHEW.
