Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt has taken to Instagram to apologise for his 'insensitive' behaviour. Recently, he asked fans to turn up the volume when watching his Insta-vids, instead of relying on subtitles. And obviously, many hearing-impaired fans took offence. Uh-oh.
So, Chris (being a man who knows the error of his ways) did the only plausible thing to do - apologise. He took to Instagram yesterday to post the below essay, which we recommend you read after pulling up a chair, because it's long.
In the lengthy written apology, Chris said: "I have people in my life who are hearing-impaired, and the last thing in the world I would want to do is offend them or anybody who suffers from hearing loss or any other disability. So truly from the bottom of my heart I apologise. Thanks for pointing this out to me. In the future I'll try to be a little less ignorant about it."
Incase you're thinking that was a publicity stunt, he added: “As always, I control my social media. Nobody else. And I am doing this because I’m actually really sorry. Apologies are powerful. I don’t dole them out Willy-Nilly. This is one of those moments where I screwed up and here’s me begging your pardon.”
And the begging didn't stop there. He also accompanied this essay with a video of him apologising to fans in sign language. We get the feeling that he's very, VERY sorry.
Plus, he even had time to have a dig at Instagram for not having subtitle technology: "Why doesn't Instagram have some kind of technology to automatically add subtitles to its videos? Or at least the option. I did a little exploring and it seems lacking in that area."
Go on Instagram, you heard the man - SORT IT OUT.
