We miss Love Island 2016 more than we miss being able to nap in the afternoon and wear bright pink tights on a Monday afternoon, without John from I.T raising a judgy eyebrow.
How great is it that the cast are all still in contact? And that O=owner of massive trouser snake Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland got ENGAGED over Christmas? Very bloody great, thats how.
However, we are sad to report that Cara De La Hoyde (winner of the 2016 series) 19 year old cousin sadly died of cancer a few days ago.
Cara opened up to OK! Online, about the family heartbreak,
'I’ve just lost a younger cousin who passed away with terminal cancer last night," she said.
'It’s been a hard time but Nathan’s my rock through it.'
Olivia Buckland has been showing masses of support to Cara especially on Instagram and posted a picture of the pair with either a) white face masks b) whipped cream er, c)??? with the caption: 'When your both as unhinged as each other 😂 Strongest girl I know. Feels like I've known this one forever @cara_delahoyde it's only up from here'.
Cara echoed the sentiment with her own Instagram post:
'It's crazy to think that a year ago I didn't know this girl and now she's one of the closest friends in my life,' Cara wrote.
'It just shows that you never know what's coming and I love her to the moon a back.'
Cara has been dating fellow Love Island contestant Nathan Massey since last summer and look happier then ever, despite rumours floating arounf Celebsville that they're 'on the verge of splitting up.'
We are sending all our love to the De La Hoyde family.
