We bloody love the The X Factor. We love it so much that we'd probably still watch it if a fish was presenting it. Actually we'd definitely watch it if a fish was presenting it, that would be amazing.

But last year we couldn't help but feel a little glum every time Dermot O'Leary didn't do his little jog onto the stage. He'd announced his departure from presenting the show the previous year, and it just wasn't the same somehow.

Clearly, *The X Factor *bosses felt the same way, as it was announced in March that he's COMING BACK. Plus, it's being alleged that he's getting a whopping £8 MILLION for the new four-year deal. Like, seriously.

This is quite literally a pretty big deal – so big, in fact, that it has reportedly made him the highest paid solo presenter on TV.

And everyone is alarmed. A source told The Sun: "It’s completely unheard of for one presenter to be paid £8million to host one show.

"There hasn’t been a deal like it since Jonathan Ross was getting millions a year from the BBC to host his chat show."

The contract will apparently allow him to continue working on other projects on other networks too, meaning that are fave saluting hunk could potentially earn even MORE dolla – he allegedly already takes home nearly a million annually for his other media work.

Derm decided to come back after he had (what we like to imagine was a) really emotional chat with Simon Cowell at his LA home.

Speaking to the Mirror, Simon said: "He may have thought it was going to be an awkward meeting but it was one of the easiest I've ever had.

"I think there was probably a misunderstanding. I thought he wanted to go and he probably thought I wanted him to leave. Neither of us, being stubborn, spoke to each other and then we realised that we miss him."
