Red-heads, it’s your time to shine.

According to a new study, ginger guys are getting more sex – all because of Ed Sheeran.

The poll shows that since our fave ginger singer came on the scene, one in five 25 to 34-year-old red-headed men are getting more female attention.

So, ‘the Ed Sheeran effect’ is apparently a thing now.

The guys surveyed said they receive more compliments about their ginger locks than before – and don’t get teased as much.

The survey also asked 1000 women about their opinions on the matter, and one in three said Ed Sheeran had changed their perception of ginger guys.

AND one in 20 women said red-headed men are their type on paper, over all other hair colours.

A spokesperson for www.casumo.com, which commissioned the study, said: “It’s unsurprising that red-heads are attracting more attention now than in previous years.

“Ed Sheeran has shown how his appearance has no effect on his talent and more people are embracing their natural colour. It seems that when it comes to gingers, the brighter the better.”

But Ed isn’t the only ginger celeb attracting legions of female fans – in a ranking of the most attractive ginger celebs Prince Harry came top, followed by Ewan McGregor and Damian Lewis, with Ed in fourth place.

The study was carried out by OnePoll.com, with 175 ginger men being surveyed.
