But that's why they got on so well

It's only January and 2017 is already 149194190 times better than the absolute shit storm that was last year. Mainly because Celebrity Big Brother is providing as with all the dramz but also because Ed Sheeran is back and he's released some banging new music.

His tracks Shape of You and Castle On The Hill are currently at number one and two in the UK charts (you can listen to them here and watch the video here) and he's just announced a HUGE tour.

We're probs going to follow him around the country and go to all the gigs we possibly can, NGL.

Anyway, Ed has recently opened up about his friendship with Taylor Swift and has admitted why they get on so well.

It’s a bit harsh but it kind of makes sense.

Speaking in an interview for the upcoming March issue of GQ, Ed revealed: "There's an underdog element to it. Taylor was never the popular kid in school. I was never the popular kid in school. Then you get to the point when you become the most popular kid in school – and we both take it a bit too far."

(N.B. Taylor and Ed aren’t actually in school anymore, we think it's some kinda metaphor for the music biz or something…)

He then goes on to say: " She wants to be the biggest female artist in the world and I want to be the biggest male artist in the world. It also comes from always being told that you can’t do something and being like, ‘F you. I can.’"

If being the best male and female artists in the world isn't #friendship goals, then we're not sure what is.
