Ellie Goulding: she’s talented, she’s hot and now she’s speaking out for people who struggle to be heard. A long time advocate for the homeless, the Burn singer has spoken out on Twitter about her anger at a council’s approach to people sleeping rough.
Writing on Twitter, Ellie said: “I'm looking at you Hackney Council. How could you do this to vulnerable people who need you the most? I can't deal with your ignorance…
“Homelessness isn't a lifestyle choice. It is a last resort and has risen 79% in London since 2010. Because people aren't caring enough.”

She added: “Remember last year when "anti homeless" spikes started appearing around London? I'll never get over it. I feel the same about this.”
Ellie spoke out alongside charities to try and call for the withdrawal of a policy that means homeless people could face fines of £1,000. Hackney Council later said the policy would only be used as a last resort.
The 28-year-old also urged her fans to back a petition against the council.
Ellie has previously spoken out about her support for homeless charities and spent last Christmas volunteering in a shelter. She also put on a gig, alongside Bastille and Tom Odell to help raise money for the Streets of London charity.
“I’m volunteering all day at a shelter,” Ellie told the Mirror before the show. “I’ve done it for a few years. It’s fun and part of the reason I run my gigs.”
