Before this year, we’d associated the Met Gala with outlandish dresses, weird red carpet moments, and that time Zayn wore those weird metal sleeves for no apparent reason.
And we still do, of course, but this year we added smoking and mucking about in the toilet to the Met Gala vibe.
Seriously – the pictures looked like the kind we’d take of ourselves being rebellious in year 10, only without the designer dresses. And we got detention.
As well as Kylie Jenner’s bathroom selfie, pictures emerged of celebs like Bella Hadid and Dakota Johnson ‘avin a cheeky cig in the toilets OF AN ACTUAL ART GALLERY. And it hasn’t gone down well.
Board members and donors to the Met Gala are apparently seriously pissed off, and an anonymous source told Page Six: "As a donor to the Met, I was so insulted to see all these 'celebrities' smoking and taking selfies of themselves in the bathroom.
“Mostly, it's disrespectful to the art collection which needs to be kept 100 percent smoke-free. I would honestly like to see these people fined by the city."
The publication reports that a board member even "stormed right out and complained right away," and the source added: "It is so disrespectful to the museum."
