Since confirming the news that she's expecting her first child with her now ex-boyfriend, Arthur Collins - who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a nightclub acid attack last month - Ferne McCann has stayed silent on social media.

However, Ferne's This Morning collegue Phillip Schofield has now confirmed that she will be returning to the show this Thursday.

"Speaking for the first time since her ex-boyfriend’s arrest, pregnant Ferne McCann tells us how she’s preparing for life as a single mum," Phil explained as the show came to an end.

Ferne, who has been a permanent showbiz reporter for the show since last year, has recently taken time off since the news of her pregnancy broke.

And according to The Sun Online, even Ferne's closest friends had no idea she was pregnant, with one admitting: "We had no idea. It’s really worrying – we don’t know what she’s going to do now, it’s really sad, we’re all here for her but she’s not speaking to anyone.

"We don’t even know where she is."

Since Arthur's arrest, Ferne has deleted all traces of him from her social media released a statement that revealed that she is planning to raise her child on her own.

Chatting to OK! magazine, Ferne's rep explained: "Ferne is grateful for the sympathetic way news of her pregnancy has been covered and people's support and obviously her first concern is for her child's health.

"Accordingly she does not wish to discuss the pregnancy further given the early stage it is at and the immense strain that Ferne is currently under."
