On Tuesday night, Gary Lineker and Danielle Bux announced they were divorcing after six years of marriage.
But despite the couple both praising each other on Twitter, and promising to remain friends, Gary’s family can’t wait to see the back of her, according to reports.
Gary’s family apparently had a strained relationship with the 36-year-old model, and some members even blamed Danielle after
Gary, 55, fell out with his brother Wayne. It is also believed that Gary’s mum Margaret, who died in September, wasn’t close to her daughter-in-law.
A source told The Sun: “Danielle changed Gary for the worse. He seemed to choose her over his family. He became distant and started to care about his appearance more.
“It was in stark contrast to his first marriage to Michelle. She was close to Gary’s family and still stays in touch now.”
And in an interview with The Sun last April, Wayne, 53, said: “In my opinion Danielle cost me my relationship with my brother.”
According to reports, the couple decided to call time on their eight-year relationship over disagreements about starting a family.
