Earlier this week, we brought you the truly horrible news that the reason Gemma Collins returned to TOWIE was to support Bobby Norris after his little dog Beau was mauled to death by a bigger dog.

Bobby broke the news on his Twitter account, saying: "Absolutely heartbroken to announce that whilst on a walk with my baby Beau, he was mauled to death by another dog."

He added: "Owners should take responsibility for their pets to avoid these tragedies. There's no such thing as dangerous dogs, just dangerous owners."

The tweets have since been deleted, but he appeared on the Loose Women panel today to talk about the tragedy.

He explained in detail the horrific moment that a large dog grabbed hold of the tiny Yorkshire terrier puppy and shook him.

He said that he'd asked the owner of the dog to rein it in from its long leash, but the tragedy happened in a "split second".

"Time just stopped, I saw the dog get Beau in his mouth and I think in defence of the big dog, I think he thought Beau was a toy or a rabbit," he said.

Bobby went on to explain that the owner had a second dog on a split lead, so had struggled to control both animals. He said: "There was nothing we could do as he was in the dog's mouth, it was so quick… The yelp.

"The dog eventually dropped him... I got [Beau] and took a few steps to the side as I was scared the dog was going to come back for me."

Shockingly, the owner of the big dog "just vanished", leaving Bobby to rush to the vet to try and save Beau – where he learnt there was nothing they could do for him.

Emotional scenes of him burying the dog alongside Gemma Collins, Danielle Armstrong and Chloe Lewis will be shown in an upcoming episode of TOWIE.
