Over the weekend the news broke that One Direction's Louis Tomlinson had been arrested following an incident at LAX Airport in Los Angeles.
Louis was arrested after tackling a photographer to the ground and being involved in another altercation between a fan and his girlfriend, Eleanor Calder.
According to The Sun, the young woman who was allegedly involved in a physical fight with Eleanor has since spoken out, saying: "The guy socked me.
"He’s going to go to jail.
"The guy just grabbed me and threw me to the floor and he socked me and that’s it."
Now Louis has spoken out about the situation. According to The Mirror, he has told friends: "I was protecting my girlfriend."
A source also told the paper: "The video from the incident shows what really happened and tells the story.
"Those girls were attacking Eleanor and Louis rushed in and pushed them away. He is adamant everything he did was to protect his girlfriend and that is what he has been telling his friends."
In a video obtained by Radar Online, Louis can be seen rushing over to his girlfriend as it appears a fight is breaking out between the two women, after the fan had apparently pulled out her phone to film Louis' incident with the paparazzi.
The One Direction singer then appears to launch himself at the young fan, to defend his girlfriend. The girl then falls to the floor and Louis loses his jumper in the scuffle.
The source also added: "He can’t say anything public because of the legal situation but he just wants to sort it out as soon as possible and move on."
Louis was released on £16,000 bail and a court date has been set for 29 March.
