Yesterday it was revealed that One Direction star Louis Tomlinson had been arrested at LAX Airport.

Louis was with his girlfriend Eleanor Calder when he was involved in an airport bust up, which was thought to have happened when a photographer got too close to his face.

According to The Mirror sources, Louis was arrested in a "citizen arrest" and is charged with battery, but not as a felony offense.

The photographer was also arrested. TMZ reported: "He allegedly pulled the photog to the floor by his legs. The photog fell backwards and struck his back and head on the floor.

"It didn't end there. A female witness started recording Louis' female companion as she tried to leave. The 2 women allegedly then got into a physical altercation."

Since the incident, Steve Aoki, who collaborated on Louis debut solo single Just Hold On has spoken out in defence of Louis on Twitter.

He wrote: "Wish the paparazzi respected personal space,” then added: “U can still do your job without having to put your camera literally in someone’s face.”

His tweets have since been retweeted over 40,000 times and received many messages of thanks from Louis' fans.

Another wrote: "So much respect for you Steve. Thank you!"
